Biography

Debra is a versatile and strong, London based character actress with excellent stage presence and also an experienced screen actress who gives a natural and believable performance.

Debra is also a drama facilitator/workshop tutor and works freelance for many theatre companies and arts organisations, including the following :

Current News

 

Debra can currently be seen on your screens in one of the new HALIFAX commercials playing a woman who is surprised during a game of Scrabble!

 

Debra will be playing Mrs Leck in Episode 6 of the new BBC Series Call The Midwife.  Directed by Jamie Payne, this episode can be seen on 19th February 2012.

 

Debra will be playing Wendy Cohen, mother of Sam Hallam, in the verbatim theatre production 'Someone to Blame'.  Directed by David Mercatali (Moonfleece, Tender Napalm), this production will run from 6-31st March 2012 at The Kings Head, Islington.

 

Recent Productions 

- Debra recently appeared in the wonderful Christmas film 'Fast Freddie, The Widow & Me'. playing Susie Copeland. Starring Laurence Fox, Sarah Smart, Tamsin Outhwaite and Jack McMullen and directed by David Richards

JUNKHEARTS was recently shown at the London Film Festival at the BFI, where director Tinge Krishnan and newcomer Candese Reid were both nominated for awards!!  JUNKHEARTS is released on DVD on 23rd January 2012.

-  Debra recently played ELEANOR in the short film 'Plastic Love' by Jamie Hooper, for Fingercuff Productions.  'When Eleanor comes home and finds her husband's saliva on her red patent shoes, she knows he's been up to his old tricks and decides to take her revenge!'. 

-  In April Debra played Mrs Macory, the wedding dress shop owner, in EASTENDERS as part of the Tanya/Greg wedding storyline. 

-  In April Debra  reprised the role of HER in 'Sweet Engineering of the Lucid Mind' by Mitch Feral.  This play won The Offcut Festival 2010.  See reviews/blogs:
